Panhandle Home Health Receives Healthcare Grant from the Charity Care program

Being able to provide in-home healthcare to their patients, regardless of their ability to pay, resulted in care that was life-changing for the recipient.
Panhandle Home Health recently treated a patient that underwent emergency surgery and was then discharged from the hospital with surgical wound care needs. The patient qualified for this program and a nurse was able to treat the patient’s wound, thereby preventing infection and any re-hospitalizations. Patient education in wound care by the nurse alleviated the patient’s fear and the social worker connected the patient with available resources in the community to establish routine medical care.
